Annual Ohio Employee Ownership Conference

Each year the OEOC’s Annual Conference features an eclectic and interesting mix of featured speakers, 20 breakout sessions, and plenty of networking opportunities - and more - for management and leaders of employee-owned companies, rank and file employee owners, business owners interested in selling to their employees, and anyone interested in employee ownership.

Important update

In order to ensure the health and safety of the employee ownership community, the rescheduled 34th Annual Ohio Employee Ownership Conference will be run as a 100% online/virtual conference.

About the Annual Conference

For the past 33 years the Ohio Employee Ownership Center has hosted an annual conference that provides a one of a kind, one-day educational experience for existing and prospective employee owned companies.

The conference sessions cover a wide range of issues relevant to employee owners and their companies -  whether you are an employee owner, manager, business owner interested in selling to your employees,  service provider, or an economic development practitioner the annual conference is a great opportunity to learn from your peers.

The 2020 conference will include 20-plus breakouts sessions on everything employee ownership, including:

  • Essential Employee Owner Education - Sessions for rank and file employee-owners of both ESOPs and Worker Cooperatives
  • Legal and Technical - Sessions on legal, financial, fiduciary, and other technical employee ownership topics
  • Company Culture and Communications- Sessions to help you maximize and grow the ownership culture in your company
  • Governance, Leadership, and Best Practices - Sessions to help you manage your employee-owned company
  • Selling Owner - Sessions for business owners (and their advisors) exploring a sale to employees.
  • And More!!!

Keynote Speaker - Jennifer Briggs, Gritt Business Coaching

Jennifer Briggs brings over two decades of practice in human resources, organizational development, and executive leadership from a variety of industries. She served as VP of Human Resources with New Belgium Brewing for 12 years creating a winning ‘best of’ workplace and now serves as an educator and advisor to companies who want to redefine value in a more holistic manner. Building healthy, profitable, democratically managed companies with shared capital ownership is her passion. A mentor once taught her to never let a rule get in the way of making a good decision and she strives to make critical thinking, intention and agile action guiding principles. She brings a non-traditional HR viewpoint of relying primarily on values, communication, and community.

She is an advisor with the Beyster Institute with the University of California San Diego and serves on corporate boards for PFSbrands, GISinc., and Engineering Economics, Inc. She is on the advisory boards for The Moxie Exchange and Organically Grown and participates with the Democracy at Work Institute. She holds a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, graduate studies in Enterprise Project Management and a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education. She is currently a fellow with the Institute for the Study of Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing with Rutgers University.

Individual Rates

Individual rate provides day of Annual Conference access only. To find out if you are an OEOC Professional Member or Ohio Employee Owned Network Member please contact Kelley Fitts at kfitts@kent.edu.

Company Rates

Company rate provides day of Annual Conference access to as many employees / staff members of your company / organization as you see fit. In addition it provides post-conference access to recordings of all  sessions. The company rate provides both reduced cost and added value. It is available to any organization (network members, professional members, general public). For members of the Ohio Employee Owned Network the company rate is discounted.
