In this episode we speak with Pete Shuler of Blue Ridge ESOP Associates and go into the mechanics of ESOP administration and talk about Third Party Administrators (TPAs) – what they are and do, why they do it, and how you as a plan administrator in your company can take steps to ensure your relationship with your TPA is strong, efficient, and useful.

Pete Shuler is VP-Senior Consultant at Blue Ridge ESOP and has 25+ years of experience administering and consulting on ESOPs and other qualified retirement plans. His current responsibilities include managing the administration of over 525 ESOPs; consulting with companies considering ESOP transactions; performing feasibility studies; consulting on the termination and merger of ESOPs; forecasting the impact of new legislation on ESOPs; and coordinating and reviewing repurchase liability studies. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.
